Early Intervention
Our Early Start services include developing a comprehensive plan for your infant or toddler that focuses on providing services in the natural environment of your home, as well as community settings where all children gather.
About the Early Start Program
The Early Start program is managed by both the California Department of Education and the California Department of Developmental Services. The program is for infants and toddlers with disabilities, and is the result of coordination with a range of family-centered services.

Families and professionals are encouraged to form partnerships with those offering family support and assistance from professional services like ABA therapy. The Early Start program is available at no cost through any regional center for developmental disabilities in California.
Assessment
Our team of specialists conduct a comprehensive in-home assessment to determine your child’s ability to:
Help or care for themselves, dress, and eat
Relate to others on an emotional and social level
Express themselves, speak, and understand speech and language
Learn and think
Hear, see, and move

Eligibility Criteria
The Early Start program is available to children from infants to toddlers between birth and 36 months. Children eligible for early intervention must meet one of the following criteria:
Have a developmental delay (33% or greater) in at least one of these areas: social or emotional, cognitive, adaptive, communication, motor or physical development (includes hearing and vision); or
Have a condition with an established risk that has a known probability of causing a developmental delay or disability; or
Be considered at high risk of experiencing developmental disabilities or delays due to various diagnosed biomedical risk factors
Why Choose Pivotal Parenting for Early Intervention in California?
Highly-Skilled Staff
We handpick each of our therapists for their skills, and ensure they receive continuous training from the American Academy of Pediatrics throughout their time with us.
Individualized Attention
We keep our client list small—that means your child will always get the time and attention they need. At each session, important data is collected that we’ll use to map your child’s progress, as well as identify any barriers to learning.
Parents Learn, Too!
Our Parent Training programs will teach you how to be a positive participant in your child’s success through positive reinforcement, self-examination, and reinforcement of what your child learns between their sessions.
When you’re ready to begin, Pivotal Parenting is excited to welcome you!
